Thrummed Mittens
Join us to make a pair of thrummed mittens, just in time for winter and perfect for yourself or for gifting! We'll be making the Easy Mittens with Thrums pattern by Debi Wilbur and you’ll learn the traditional technique of thrumming: adding small pieces of fluffy wool roving directly into your knitting to create a warm, cushioned lining inside your mittens.
This class is perfect for intermediate and adventurous beginners who are comfortable with basic knitting and ready to try something new. You’ll leave with the skills to make a seriously cozy pair of mittens and a new technique you can use on future projects.
You should know:
How to knit, purl, increase, decrease, and work in the round. Experience with double-pointed needles or another method of knitting small circumferences is recommended.
What to Bring:
Please plan to arrive with the ribbing for one mitten completed so we can get right into thrumming!
Yarn and needles are not included, though students will receive a 10% discount on yarn purchased for this project.

| Instructor Bio: | Born and raised in Brookline, Stephanie Fine is an avid knitter. Her grandmother taught her how to knit as a child and a move to Oregon in the early 2000s reignited the knitting spark. Currently, a Senior Manager at CVS Health in Rhode Island, Stephanie finds knitting to be a creative outlet and she enjoys exploring different yarn stores in her travels. Stephanie is also a volunteer and advocate for the Loose Ends project.
