The Art of Embroidery
Join us for a lovely evening workshop and learn the basics of embroidery in a relaxed, welcoming environment.
We’ll spend the evening slowing down and enjoying the meditative practice of stitching as you learn foundational embroidery techniques, from simple beginner stitches to creating your own small designs. You’ll leave with fun patterns, the confidence to keep practicing, and the knowledge to continue your embroidery journey at home.
You’re welcome to bring a piece you’d like to personalize such as a denim jacket, tote bag, button-down, or t-shirt, or practice on the fabric provided and create a patch or little embroidery artwork to bring home. Whether you’ve never picked up a needle before or you’re looking to refresh your skills, you’ll be guided step by step and encouraged to work at your own pace.
Come unwind, create with your hands, and leave with something beautifully personal, made slowly by you.

| Instructor Bio: | Hi, I’m Katie Linnaea Cartwright.
I’m an artist, designer, and Boston native who now lives in San Diego, where I share my love of creativity through hands-on workshops at my creative studio rooted in mindfulness, connection, and the joy of making something with your own hands. Creativity has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I learned to sew early on, and grew up surrounded by art and craftsmanship, and today those creative threads have woven together into Golden Spiral Studio, a space where sewing, embroidery, and other traditional crafts like leather working and even painting have become a way to slow down, reconnect, and experience the joy of creating. My hope is that every student leaves feeling more creative, capable, and connected than when they arrived. |
