Knit Your First Raglan Sweater

This guided sweater class will walk you through every step of creating a top-down raglan sweater while giving you the freedom to make it your own. We'll be using the Flax Sweater pattern by Tin Can Knits, which can be made in sizes 0 months - 6XL and offers many customizable design choices including yarn weight, body length, and sleeve length, so your finished sweater is uniquely yours.
Throughout the class, you'll learn the anatomy of sweater construction, yarn selection, how to knit and measure a gauge swatch, choose the right size, understand raglan shaping, and confidently build a sweater from the neckline down.
This class is designed as a workshop-style experience, with plenty of time for instruction, demonstrations, questions, and individual guidance. Because sweaters take time to knit, there will be homework between each class. Sessions are intentionally spaced out to give you time to complete the assigned sections before moving on to the next step. Plan to spend time knitting at home between classes to stay on track.
By the end of the course, you'll have the skills and confidence to knit a sweater that fits your style—and the knowledge to tackle many more sweaters in the future.
