You Don't Have to be Scared of: Steeking (or Fair Isle!)
Cutting your knitting might sound a little wild, but it’s one of the most freeing skills you can learn. In this class, we’ll demystify steeking and explore the foundations of Fair Isle colorwork in a low-stakes, approachable way.
Using a small-scale kids vest as our sample project, you’ll learn how to manage multiple colors, trap floats, and prepare your work for steeking. We’ll walk through the process step-by-step so you can feel confident taking scissors to your knitting (yes, really!).
What to Bring:
Pattern is included as part of the class and will be emailed to you after your sign up.
Please come with your project cast on and at least 1" of K2, P1 ribbing completed so we can jump right into the colorwork.

- 5 colors of fingering weight yarn

| Requirements: | Yarn: Fingering weight in 5 colors. Needles: Size 2 (2.75 mm) and 2½ (3mm): 16” circular (cir) and set of double-pointed (dpn). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge. |

| Instructor Bio: | Born and raised in Brookline, Stephanie Fine is an avid knitter. Her grandmother taught her how to knit as a child and a move to Oregon in the early 2000s reignited the knitting spark. Currently, a Senior Manager at CVS Health in Rhode Island, Stephanie finds knitting to be a creative outlet and she enjoys exploring different yarn stores in her travels. Stephanie is also a volunteer and advocate for the Loose Ends project.
