Felt Ornament Workshop: Holiday Trees
Join local crafter Megan Secatore (Heirloom Felt Designs) for a fun make-and-take workshop and create your own felt applique ornaments. In this one-hour workshop, you will receive pre-cut wool felt pieces, matching and accent threads, an embroidery needle, fiberfill stuffing and an optional ribbon for hanging. We will share scissors or bring our own. Meg will demo how to decorate and finish your ornament and share tips for working in felt applique. Participants will be able to customize their ornaments with a wide assortment of cut designs in many colors.
This workshop is designed for makers with little or no knowledge of hand sewing. Fancy stitches welcome but not required! Please note, this is a project in felt applique, using sheets of wool felt, not needle felting.
This class is suitable for adults and teenagers (14 yrs. of age or older).
Limited to 10 students, but 4 students are required for the series to meet.
If the workshop is cancelled due to low enrollment, you will receive a full refund.
Additional materials, as well as an assortment of wool felt sheets, cut designs and embroidery floss will be available for sale, along with kits, finished ornaments and pincushions from Heirloom Felt Designs.

| Instructor Bio: | West Roxbury crafter Megan Secatore captures nature’s designs in original decorations crafted in felt. Favorite motifs include roses, nasturtiums, lilies, cherry blossoms and poppies, adorning pincushions and ornaments. In all her craft projects, she adheres to one rule: Use the best materials you can find. For felt work this means100% wool felt or wool blends -- which insures heirloom quality with superior colors and softness -- and no glues. Each piece is one of a kind.
